DT Swiss tells customers to stop using certain road wheels

Published July 14, 2025

(BRAIN) DT Swiss has released a letter to customers alerting them to possible problems with some models of its wheels.

The company is telling customers to stop using the wheels while it investigates reports of "spontaneous delamination" of the rims.

The problem concerns some ERC, CRC and HEC model wheels with rim heights of 35 amd 45mm manufactured after Sept. 1, 2024. The wheels were sold in the aftermarket and included on some complete bikes. The relevant wheels can be identified by an ID number that is on a sticker that is on the rim between the spokes, on the rim tape and in the rim well, as shown in the photos on this page. If the ID number is2750000 or higher it is affected by the order. Customers can enter the ID number on a DT Swiss website to confirm.

The company said it is investigating the issue. "Once the investigation results are available, we will inform our customers about the necessary measures, which may range from inspection to product replacement," the company said.
