Adam Cole was forced to vacate the TNT Championship before AEW All In: Texas and even hinted at retirement due to health issues during All In: Texas. Fans have been wondering what really happened to him and now Tony Khan has provided an update on Cole.
While speaking during the post AEW All In: Texas scrum, Tony Khan gave an update on Adam Cole after Cole vacated the TNT Title because of health issues. Khan said that just yesterday, even as late as last night while he was at ROH Supercard of Honor, they were fully planning for the pay-per-view. Everything was set for Adam Cole to defend the TNT Title against Kyle Fletcher.
After Collision, where there was a trios match with Kyle Fletcher, RPG Vice, and The Paragon, Cole came back and they spoke. Cole was absolutely planning to be at the pay-per-view, and as of yesterday, they were still talking about it.
But sometime between late last night and early this morning, Cole let him know he wasnt feeling well. Khan pointed out that this shows how unpredictable these kinds of injuries can be and stressed that its important for Cole to take the time he needs to recover. Right now, theres no clear idea of when Cole will be able to wrestle or even speak to fans again.
Adam Coles absence is a big setback, not just for AEWs TNT Title scene but also for the fans whove followed his incredible comeback journey. Right now, the most important thing is Coles health and recovery. Hopefully, hell beat these issues and get back to doing what he loves as thats what matters the most to him right now.
