Devin Booker Locks In With Suns on Record-Breaking Extension

Devin Booker isnt going anywhere for the foreseeable future.

The Phoenix Suns superstar has agreed to a two-year, $145 million maximum extension that will keep him with the franchise through the 2029-30 season.

Bookers deal includes the highest annual extension salary in NBA history at $72.5 million, surpassing Shai Gilgeous-Alexanders $71.25 million per year average, according to ESPNs Shams Charania.

The move lines up with Bookers comments in March about him wanting to be a one-franchise player.

I take pride in the community in Phoenix, the people that have supported me since I was 18 when things were ugly, Booker told ESPNs Tim MacMahon. And the people that are with us, we just fell short of accomplishing what we want. So I want to do it, and I want to do it here. Thats the responsibility of being a franchise player, and I wear that with honor. So it might not look the most pretty right now, but we got to get it done and Im going to do it.

The 28-year-old guard, drafted 13th overall in 2015, has spent his entire 10-year career in Phoenix.

Last season, Booker became the Suns all-time leader in points scored while continuing his offensive dominance. He averaged 25.6 points, 7.1 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game.

Booker has now averaged at least 25 points in seven straight seasons, joining Giannis Antetokounmpo as the only players to reach that milestone, ESPN Research noted.
