The Dallas Mavericks may not be ready to make a blockbuster trade for LeBron James, but they are reportedly keeping an eye on his situation in Los Angeles.
Dallas, Im told that they would only be interested in LeBron [James] in a buyout situation, ESPNs Dave McMenamin said Thursday on ESPN Radio 710 in Los Angeles.

The 40-year-old picked up his $52.6 million player option with the Lakers last week, but his future with the team remains a talking point around the league. Thats largely because of recent comments from his agent, Rich Paul, suggesting James commitment comes with conditions.
The Lakers have made several roster moves this week, including signing center Deandre Ayton and forward Jake LaRavia. However, their ability to deliver a championship-caliber roster around Bron is still in question.
McMenamin pointed out that a trade involving James would be complicated. Lets keep bringing this up because I dont think its getting enough attention. His sons on the Lakers. So hes going to go get a trade away from his son? McMenamin said, referencing Bronny James spot on the Lakers roster.
The Mavericks could be appealing for James if he did hit free agency, given his history with Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis.
But for now, any Dallas pursuit hinges on LeBron becoming available outside of a trade, according to McMenamin.
