Rich Swann has officially found a new home at least for now. The former TNA World Champion made his NWA debut at last nights television taping in Tampa, Florida, marking his first major wrestling appearance since legal issues and personal struggles sidelined him from TNA Wrestling.
Swann isnt just making a one-off appearance. Hes set for regular NWA dates moving forward, including an appearance at NWA 77, which takes place next month in Huntington, Long Island.
Swanns debut comes after a rough stretch outside the ring. The former TNA star was arrested last year in Altamonte Springs, Florida, for disorderly public intoxication and causing a disturbance both misdemeanor offenses.
Police reports revealed that Swann tried to force his way into an apartment, possibly mistaking it for his own, prompting the resident to confront him with a gun. Swann eventually backed off, but the incident led to his arrest and eventual suspension from TNA Wrestling.
Ringside News previously confirmed that Swann entered a nolo contendere plea meaning he didnt admit guilt but chose not to contest the charges.
It was then later reported that Swann had been focusing on his sobriety, even shaving his head for a fresh start. Still, his status with TNA remains uncertain, and no return date has been announced.
Now, Swann seems ready to move forward at least under the NWA banner. Whether this is the beginning of a full wrestling comeback or simply a stop along the way remains to be seen.
