Mustafa Ali was let go by WWE in 2023 and went on to have a good run in TNA last year, though he eventually left the company. This year, he decided to re-sign with TNA Wrestling and has now explained why he chose to return there instead of going back to WWE or signing with AEW.
While speaking on The Wrestling Classic, Mustafa Ali explained why he chose to sign with TNA instead of returning to WWE or joining AEW. He said TNA is really moving in the right direction and one of the biggest reasons he signed was because they offered him the chance to be creatively heard.
Ali stated that it wasnt meant as a knock on WWE or AEW, but he pointed out that with so many top stars already in place in those companies, breaking through and standing out creatively would have been a lot harder for someone in his position.
On the other hand, TNA welcomed him with open doors, open arms, and an open checkbook, making it an easy decision. Ali said hes very happy with his time there so far and looks forward to continuing to work with them.
Mustafa Ali is clearly thriving in TNA Wrestling and its not hard to see why it was ultimately the best decision for his career. Nonetheless, well have to see if he will end up returning to WWE or joining AEW in the future, but that might not happen anytime soon.
