WWE made it official on RAW Chad Gable and his masked persona El Grande Americano are both off TV after Gables recent injury.
During a backstage segment on the June 30, 2025 episode of Monday Night RAW, Gable appeared alongside America Made, sporting a sling on his arm following the legitimate shoulder injury that has sidelined him. RAW General Manager Adam Pearce approached the group and acknowledged the situation, telling Gable he was sorry to hear about the injury. Pearce then rubbed salt in the wound by pointing out that El Grande Americano would be sitting on the sidelines too.
The segment served as WWEs on-screen confirmation of Gables absence, following reports that the former Olympian requires shoulder surgery an injury severe enough to keep him out of action for at least six months.
The storyline between Gable and Penta was originally set to end with a Mask vs. Mask match at WWE SummerSlam, but that match has been scrapped entirely. Gable was written off television during the June 23 episode of RAW, where Penta attacked him and applied the armbreaker, giving WWE an easy way to cover for Gables real-life injury.
Gables injury forced a major change to one of RAWs most talked-about storylines, but fans are hoping he comes back stronger than ever when the time is right.
What do you think about WWE sidelining both Gable and El Grande Americano on RAW? Should they have gone a different route with the story? Sound off in the comments!
