Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier have officially been named captains for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game after finishing as the top two in fan voting, the league announced on Sunday.

Clark, the 22-year-old Indiana Fever guard, received a record-breaking 1,293,526 votes, while 28-year-old Minnesota Lynx forward Collier tallied 1,176,020. The game will tip off July 19 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Clark acknowledged the significance of the moment, speaking to reporters especially with the game being hosted in her teams home arena.

Yeah, obviously its cool. Its cool that fans get to be a part of it and have a little impact on the game, Clark said (via X). I think also its going to be really special to be able to do it here in this city. I think theres already been so much time and effort put in by so many people that you know, arent going to get credit for what they did to bring All-Star here. So, you know, trying to make it the best All-Star the WNBA has ever had. I know well certainly do that, but also, you know, it is certainly a cool honor for sure.

Clark also made it clear who shed like beside her.

I mean, I certainly, obviously Im going to try to get my teammates on my team. Why wouldnt I? Thats obviously the goal, she said. And, you know, once they come out with whoever has made it and whoever hasnt, I guess I get to pick and choose. I dont really know how it works. I guess I just found out two hours ago. But obviously my first goal will certainly be to be able to have my teammates on my team. So, absolutely.

The two captains will select their teams from the pool of starters and reserves on July 8 during WNBA Countdown on ESPN. Starters will be announced Monday during ESPNs NBA free agency special, with reserves, chosen by WNBA coaches, set to be revealed July 6 across league social platforms.
