Buddy Matthews wrestled Kazuchika Okada at AEW Grand Slam: Australia, but he injured his ankle during his entrance before the match even began. Its been a few months since then, and now it appears that hes had a setback in his recovery.
While speaking during an Instagram Live session, Buddy Matthews was asked how his recovery was going and if he will return anytime soon. Matthews revealed that hes dealing with a setback in his recovery from an ankle injury.
Matthews explained that the ankle hasnt been healing as expected and still lacks mobility, which is making it difficult for him to move properly. He noted that once it hits three months without healing, the injury may become chronic.
The AEW star admitted the situation is frustrating but said that his health has to come first, especially if he cant perform at 100 percent. Originally, he had hoped to be back in the ring by April.
Buddy Matthews is still recovering from his injury, but its just unfortunate it isnt going as well as he would have liked. Regardless, well have to see if he will make his in-ring return this year, as fans definitely miss him.
