AEW may be rethinking the timing of a huge tag team showdown involving Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. While the plan was once set for Cope and Christian to reunite to take on FTR at All In: Texas on July 12, things may no longer be locked in for that show.
On the Fightful Select Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked directly whether the match is still scheduled for the Texas pay-per-view. His answer pointed to a slowdown behind the scenes.
This follows earlier comments Sapp made on The Hump, where he revealed that people in AEW hinted there were complications around turning Christian babyface and moving him away from his Patriarchy faction. According to those close to the situation, Christian has been in no rush to shift gears just yet.
Dave Meltzer also weighed in recently on Wrestling Observer Radio, noting that Adam Copeland isnt expected back until July and will miss the next pay-per-view entirely.
AEW appears to be playing the long game with this potential reunionallowing Christian to continue his work as the Patriarch while keeping Copelands return timeline flexible.
Do you want to see Copeland and Christian reunite at All In: Texas, or should AEW keep them apart a bit longer? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
