The June 18th edition of AEW Dynamite saw Beast Mortos replace Claudio Castagnoli in the main event. Fans were wondering why Claudio wasnt on the show and now the reason behind his absence has been revealed.

While speaking onWrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez talked about Beast Mortos replacing Claudi Castagnoli in the huge tag team match on Dynamite. Alvarez noted that he was told Castagnoli was just unavailable for the show, but everything was fine.

Just before AEW Grand Slam: Mexico went live from Arena Mexico, Tony Khan announced that Beast Mortos was replacing Claudio Castagnoli in the 12-man tag team match where he teamed up with the Death Riders and the Young Bucks.

As reported earlier, Tony Khan personally went to Salvador and requested that the Beast Mortos perform on Grand Slam: Mexico, which is ultimately what happened and fans had a blast.

Claudios absence ended up being just a small bump in the road, not a major issue. With a well-timed call from Tony Khan and a solid performance by Beast Mortos, the show went on as planned and fans were entertained from start to finish.
