The Boston Red Sox are sending infielder Kristian Campbell to Triple-A, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan on Thursday.
Campbell, who signed an eight-year, $60 million contract this spring, was hitting .301/.407/.495 at the end of April, earning American League Rookie of the Month honors, but he is .159/.243/.222 since.
Campbell, 22, will now get a chance to reset at Triple-A Worcester.
Overall, the rookie is hitting .223 with six home runs and 21 RBIs in 67 games.
He has started 54 games at second base but also has eight starts in the outfield, seven coming in center field and the other in left field.
