The controversy surrounding Jordynne Graces new entrance theme on the June 17 episode of WWE NXT just took a sharp turn. While fans erupted in chants of Fire Def Rebel over her remixed music, it turns out the change wasnt just a creative misfireit was a calculated decision by WWE driven by rights and internal priorities.
According to Fightful Select, Grace still owns the rights to the theme she used in TNA and during her early NXT appearances. That song had been a staple of her identity, but WWE has reportedly become adamant once again about owning all music used for its performers. Because Grace retained ownership of her original theme, the company made the call to replace it entirely.
There was also another critical reason behind the switch. WWE officials believed the sirens at the start of Graces old theme clashed too closely with Bron Breakkers entrance, which also uses sirens and ties directly to his uncle, Scott Steiner. With that family connection and Breakkers long-term presence in mind, WWE prioritized his theme and forced a change for Grace.
While the remix played during Graces entrance against Lola Vice, fans at the Performance Center immediately turned on it. But Grace addressed the backlash on Twitter afterward, telling fans to roll with it:
Major names like Metro Boomin have shown interest in producing WWE themesbut theyve been selective due to WWEs requirement to own the music outright, making deals harder to finalize.
Grace still advanced in the Evolution Eliminator Match and is set to face Lash Legend, Jaida Parker, and Izzi Dame in a four-way on June 24 to decide who challenges Jacy Jayne at Evolution 2. Love it or hate it, her new theme isnt going anywhere.
