Raj Dhesi, formerly known as Jinder Mahal, left fans scratching their heads after a bizarre incident during a Battleground Championship Wrestling event in Mayone that ended with Dhesi walking out mid-match and never returning.
Dhesi was scheduled to face MASADA, but the match ended in a countout when Dhesi simply exited the bout, leaving some fans confused in the crowd. The unexpected finish immediately stirred speculation online.
The event promoter later addressed the situation, claiming there were issues behind the scenesincluding problems with hotel arrangements. The promoter also shared what were described as messages from Dhesis agent, pointing to pre-match concerns and conditions.
The story gained little attention at firstuntil MASADA publicly responded. He claimed that Dhesi had delivered a list of restrictions ahead of the match about what couldnt be used during their bout. MASADAs post added fuel to the speculation and put the incident back on the radar.
However, those close to Dhesi have since pushed back via Fightful Select, stating that the entire ordeal was a worksomething scripted and orchestrated by the booker from the start. According to those in Dhesis camp, the goal was to create controversy and intrigue, not real heat.
Despite that claim, Dhesi is not currently booked for any future dates with the promotion, and its unclear whether the fallout from this situation played a role in that decision.
