The June 6 episode of WWE SmackDown went down at the Dignity Health Arena in Bakersfield, California. As the Money in the Bank go-home show, a lot of hype was guaranteed.
Money in the Bank is this Saturday, and there is a lot on the table. So far, the field has been set for the Mens match, and the champions are very interested. That being said, there is also a high-profile tag team match on the card.
This week on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso had a chance to confront John Cena and Logan Paul. At this point, its anyones match, while Rhodes and Uce know a huge target is on their back, especially with a new Money in the Bank briefcase in circulation.
This segment kicked off as Cody Rhodes interrupted Paul Heyman while he cut a promo about how Seth Rollins will win the 2025 Mens Money in the Bank ladder match. Jey Uso joined him soon after that, and the arena was full of yeeting as he made his way to the ring through the crowd.
The show went to a commercial break, but fans were cheering and yeeting away when they returned. Cody Rhodes asked Bakersfield what they wanted to talk about. Lets go Cena/ Cena sucks chants broke out after that.
Cody said that Cena is acting desperate, and he compared Cena standing next to Logan Paul like PS Hayes teaming up with the Hardy Boyz back in the day. Then Jey Uso let out a yeet before John Cena made his way out.
John Cena ordered to have his music cut off as fans continued to chant for and against him. As Cena received his introductions, Logan Paul jumped in the ring to blindside the babyfaces. Then John Cena and Paul picked Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes apart. This was capped off with a Paulverizer and a couple frog splashes from Logan Paul.
After Logan Paul and John Cena stood in the ring together, the 17-time World Champion said, take a good look, no one is coming to save you. Ive been telling you this for half of a year. Your dream of what WWE is will be ruined. This is your future, I am take this home, he takes that to the top, Cena said as he referenced the two major titles in the ring.
We will have to see what happens at Money in the Bank, but John Cena is certainly putting Logan Paul over in a big way. Before the segment ended, Cena called Paul the future of WWE, and a future World Heavyweight Champion. As the heels beat down the babyfaces again, fans chanted, We want Truth!
John Cena then addressed those chants, as he said, you cant handle the truth! He rubbed salt in the wounds in a big way as he called fans hypocrites as they chanted for truth, and they are all pathetic liars.
Fans continued We Want Truth chants. Then John Cena said thats why fans are losers. He then proclaimed that he will never be back in Bakersfield, and the heat was intense as well.
The 2025 Money in the Bank event is set to go down tomorrow, June 7, at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. We will have full coverage here at Ringside News.
