
Tay Melo is officially backand shes stepping right into the action. After more than two years away from AEW in-ring competition, Melo is making her return on next weeks AEW Dynamite: Summer Blockbuster special, teaming up with her longtime friend Anna Jay.
The return was set up during AEW Collision: Fyter Fest, where Melo made a surprise appearance to save Anna Jay from a post-match beatdown at the hands of Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford. It was Tays first time appearing on AEW television since stepping away in early 2023 due to her pregnancy.
Melo and Sammy Guevara welcomed their daughter, Luna, in November 2023. Since then, Tay had been absent from AEW action, though she dipped her toes back into the ring earlier this year. On January 3, she wrestled for STARDOM in Japan, teaming with Mina Shirakawa against Athena and Thekla.
AEW confirmed on Saturday night that Melo will wrestle her first match back next Wednesday, as she and Anna Jay face off against Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne.
This comeback is big for Tay, whose last AEW match dates back to January 2023, when she and Anna Jay took a loss against Willow Nightingale and Ruby Soho on Rampage. With the new match booked, Melo looks ready to pick up where she left off.
After being away for motherhood and taking time to recondition, Melo looks like shes returning with purposeand AEWs womens division just got a serious shot of energy.
