WWE is reportedly expecting serious backlash from fans as it prepares to officially announce Las Vegas as the host city for WrestleMania 42. The decision to bring The Show of Shows back to Sin City for a second straight year has raised eyebrowsand WWE knows it.
On the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio via WrestleBinge, JoeyVotes and TC revealed that WWE is carefully planning how to roll out the announcement, fully aware that fans may not take the news well. The backlash isnt just about the venueits about what WrestleMania has become: a luxury event thats out of reach for many loyal fans.
They are reportedly aware of the backlash theyre going to get for shifting the WrestleMania 42 host city, JoeyVotes explained, adding that WWE and TKO want the weekend to look exactly like WrestleMania 41same venues, same format, same city.
The delay in making the announcement official stems from final venue agreements not yet being locked down. WWE is trying to replicate the entire 2025 setup, including locking in the Las Vegas Convention Center for its fan eventssomething TKO wasnt willing to compromise on by using smaller venues like Mandalay Bay.
But thats not whats really lighting up social media. Fans have been vocal about how expensive WrestleMania has become. Many say theyve been priced out, accusing WWE of catering to a high-end crowd willing to treat the event as a luxury experience rather than an accessible one.
A recent viral moment with Randy Orton only added fuel to the fire. When a fan told him they spent $30,000 on WrestleMania tickets, Orton didnt hold back: Its embarrassing.
Veteran journalist Bill Apter also chimed in, admitting he was shocked by how WWE handled the situation, saying hes never seen the company operate like this before.
Switching cities after New Orleans was previously expected to host is already an unprecedented moveand doing it in favor of a more expensive, less accessible market is stirring real frustration.
