Rob Van Dam isnt here for the disrespectespecially when it comes to the memory of his late friend, Sabu.
On his 1 of a Kind podcast, RVD addressed a rude comment he saw online regarding the GoFundMe set up for Sabus funeral expenses. Someone questioned why Sabus family didnt have the money to cover the costs themselves, which didnt sit well with the former WWE and ECW Champion.
RVD explained that the GoFundMe wasnt about inabilityit was about giving people the opportunity to contribute and show their respect for someone who gave everything to pro wrestling.
He also gave background on Sabus previous crowdfunding experiences, saying the late legend was reluctant at first because of pride, but eventually gave in because the need was real.
Thanks to the fans, the goal was reached, and more people have continued to contribute. RVD hopes those funds will go toward preserving Sabus legacy through a memorial site.
Rob made it clearthis was never about a lack of support. It was about giving fans a way to be part of Sabus story one final time.
