Willow Nightingale may have signed a new contract with AEWbut that didnt stop WWE from paying close attention behind the scenes.

According to PWInsider, WWE interest was very real leading up to Nightingales re-signing. While no official outreach has been reported, the outlet noted that there was absolutely WWE interest in her had she gone onto the free market. That alone was enough to raise eyebrows, especially given Willows rising stock in AEW and her growing fanbase.

Nightingale has become one of the most talked-about stars in womens wrestling, racking up big matches across AEW and NJPW. Shes set to take part in the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing 2025, capping off a strong run that couldve made her a serious free agent target if she waited just a little longer.

Instead, she locked in her future with AEWsomething she confirmed during a recent interview with Sports Illustrated: That is true, yes. I am happy where I am. I think there is so much left ahead for me to do at AEW, things that I want to accomplish.

She also spoke about her pride in helping AEW grow since its early days: To have been a part of that and continue to water and watch it grow is just a privilege as well as a joy.

Willow mightve slammed the door shut on WWEfor nowbut make no mistake, their interest says everything about where she stands in the wrestling world. AEW kept her off the market just in time, but you can bet this wont be the last time major companies come calling. For now, Willows All Eliteand shes only getting started.

Do you think she made the right call staying in AEW, or would WWE have been the bigger move? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
