John Cena is steering clear of any talk about running for president, despite recently playing a fictional U.S. President in the upcoming buddy action comedy Hez State.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Cena was once again asked if he would consider a political career. Instead of addressing the idea, Cena smoothly redirected attention back to his latest project.

I hope everybody enjoys Heads of State on Prime Video, Cena said, dodging the question entirely. The interviewer couldnt help but point out his clever response, saying, Oh, John, that was such a diplomatic answer. See, youre already well on your way to being a politician. I love it.

This isnt the first time Cena has sidestepped the political question. In a previous interview with Us Weekly, he made it clear that his role as a fictional president on screen doesnt mean hes eyeing the Oval Office in real life. This is a movie and Im playing a role in a buddy action comedy, he said. I just uh happen to wear a suit and say my characters in the Oval Office. I think thats about as far as we can take that.
