AEW Collisions May 17th episode was supposed to be packed with action, but things took a bizarre turn when the broadcast ended at 9:30 PM and The Rocks Black Adam movie started playing instead of the scheduled main event.
Fans were left scratching their heads as the ROH Tag Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara vs. The CRU match, meant to set up a title shot against the Hurt Syndicate at Double or Nothing, never aired.
AEW had already taped the show on May 14th at the NOW Arena in Chicago, IL, and spoilers indicated a stacked card. Kyle Fletcher defeated AR Fox, Megan Bayne scored a win over Anna Jay, and ROH Champion Bandido, Tomohiro Ishii, and Brody King picked up a victory before being attacked by Rush and Dralistico. Speedball Mike Bailey also pinned Blake Christian and called out Kazuchika Okada, only to be blindsided by Rush and Dralistico.
But despite all that action, the main event never made it to air. Instead, viewers were met with Black Adam without any warning or explanation. AEW has yet to comment on the abrupt programming change, leaving fans speculating whether technical difficulties or a scheduling error caused the sudden switch.
