Francine is speaking out about Sabus last match against Joey Janela at GCW Joey Janelas Spring Break 9, and she isnt holding back.
During her latest podcast episode, Francine addressed disturbing allegations that Sabu was given a legal opioid-like substance to get through the brutal No Rope Barbed Wire match, despite being unable to walk earlier in the day.
I have a bit of a problem with that because if the man cannot walk and his knees are messed up and his feet are bleeding, was he forced into doing this? Thats something well never know, Francine said.
Francine went on to question why Sabu was allowed to compete in such a physical match while allegedly in such a poor condition. Reading that one paragraph is disturbing because like, why would you force somebody to wrestle if theyre not in the right state to do so? Or if theyre so messed up on drugs or a substance, or if theyre bleeding, their feet are bleeding, their knees are so locked that they cant walk. Thats thats incredible, she added.
Expressing her frustration, Francine questioned the priorities behind the decision. I dont get why you would force somebody to perform. I understand its the biggest show of the weekend and you want it to go well, but isnt somebodys health more important?
Francine, who considered Sabu a close friend and brother, struggled to contain her emotions as she reflected on his passing. This whole thing makes me very, very upset. And you know, maybe that match had nothing to do with him dying. I guess well never know. But it sickens me because I lost a friend and a brother and Im just devastated, she said.
Sabus match against Janela was already surrounded by controversy, but Francines comments bring a new layer of concern to the situation.
