The AEW Dynamite Beach Break event was a very special episode of AEW Dynamite on May 14, 2025. The show went down at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, and fans had quite a show to look forward to that included MJF and the Hurt Syndicates story getting even more interesting.
The Hurt Syndicate and MJF have been going back and forth for weeks. MJF has been trying to get into the stable, but he hasnt been able to get a unanimous three thumbs up just yet. Things have been quite tense in this situation as well.
MJF was backstage doing an interview during the shows first hour this week. Then, MVP came up and said that it is imperative that he join the Hurt Syndicate in the ring after their match. Then Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin took the ring for their AEW World Tag Team Title eliminator match against Top Flight. It didnt take the Hurt Syndicate long and hurt Top Flight as the referee stopped the match.
The hurting continued on Dante Martin until ROH Tag Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara came out to stop them. This started a back-and-forth between MVP and the ROH champs. MVP asked them what they wanted, and Dustin said that its obvious what they want. Suddenly, CRU, Action Andretti and Lio Rush, came out to join the promo party.
Action Andretti called Dustin Rhodes gramps, and told him to beat it as he suggested that Sammy Guevara follow him. Fans in Chicago chanted shut the f*ck up at them. Then Lio Rush called out Bobby Lashley for a match, while he mentioned the history that they have with each other. Dustin Rhodes didnt want them to cut the line and he wanted them to learn respect for their elders.
At that time, MVP said that CRU will wrestle Sammy Guevara and Dustin Rhodes at Collision this week. The winner of that match will then go on to face the Hurt Syndicate at Double or Nothing. Then they cut to commercial, promising that MJF will be out at the top of the hour to get what he has coming to him.
When we got back from commercial, MVP called MJF to the ring. Fans were more than ready to see the Salt of the Earth, but he didnt come out. Then MVP sent Shelton Benjamin backstage to help MJF find his way. When Shelty went backstage, MJF popped up behind Tony Khan in the go-position. MJF looked nervous about getting led to the ring for this segment. He was also wearing white pants, which Taz pointed out.
MVP told MJF that this was a day of reckoning, and you asked for this. That is when they all gave a thumbs up for MJF joining the Hurt Syndicate. That is when they all gave him a thumbs up, even Bobby Lashley who was very dramatic about it.
After that, MJF celebrated with his new stable. He also got fans to chant we hurt people! MVP then announced that they will officially induct MJF into the Hurt Syndicate next week on AEW Dynamite.
We will have to see what happens next for MJFs storyline with the Hurt Syndicate. They have certainly put a lot of attention into this angle on television.
