Zelina Vega won the Womens United States Championship after beating Chelsea Green during the April 25 episode of WWE SmackDown. Fans were surprised to see her win, but now it appears she has claimed she didnt know about the title win until the last moment.
While speaking on Ten Count Media, Zelina Vega was asked to share her thoughts on winning Womens United States Title and whether she was nervous on the day of her big win.
Zelina Vega revealed that she didnt know she was going to win the Womens United States Title until about three hours before the show began. She had no idea ahead of time, saying, So I actually didnt know untilyeah, I didnt know until like maybe three hours before the show started. So yeah, I had no idea.
As previously reported, there were a lot of people happy for Zelina Vega following her Womens United States Championship win on SmackDown. The moment was made even more meaningful by the return of her husband Aleister Black, on the same night.
As for Zelina Vegas plans as the Womens United States Champion, she made it clear she wants to defend the title in AAA as well as NXT, so it remains to be seen how she will be booked as the champion going forward.
