Vince McMahons legacy in WWE may be tainted by controversy, but wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell believes the former WWE CEO will eventually secure a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Speaking on Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the legendary manager said he expects McMahon to be inducted, but only after a significant cooling-off period.
I think they still need some separation, Mantell said. I dont think while this is pending, I dont think Vince is going in. I do think that Vince would go in at some point, but they would need time and distance between the event occurring and the lawsuit ending, and then Vince may go in.
When asked whether McMahons induction would happen posthumously, Mantell predicted a five-year window after the ongoing legal issues are resolved. I think he will go in after five years. I think theyll settle the suit in the next year, and hes free to go, Mantell added.
Vince McMahon stepped down from WWE in 2022 amid mounting legal troubles but returned in 2023 to orchestrate the merger between WWE and Endeavor, forming TKO Group Holdings. However, after TKO severed ties with him in 2024, WWE has distanced itself from McMahons contributions.
For now, Vince McMahons Hall of Fame induction remains up in the air, but if Dutch Mantell is right, its just a matter of time before WWE acknowledges the man who built the empire. Whether its five years from now or longer, McMahons impact on wrestling is undeniable and the door to the Hall of Fame might not stay closed forever.
