Booker T isnt holding back his thoughts on the social media feud between Ricochet and JeVon Evans, taking the veteran high-flyer to task for his approach to the up-and-coming star.
During a recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer addressed the now-deleted tweets from Evans that took aim at Ricochet after the AEW star claimed hed squash the young talent.
You know, um, I think its definitely uh where we are in this world as far as social media goes where you see a young man like Javon Evans, 20 years old, Booker said. Someone made I think if Im not mistaken, someone made a comment that Javon Evans is the um, like, like one of the best up-and-coming high flyers in the business. I think it was something like that.
Booker continued, saying Ricochets response missed the point. Ricochet, you know, clapped back as far as him being, you know, the best young, you know, high flyer in the business. But Ricochet 40 years old, you know what I mean? Thats I think Ricochet missed the point as far as, uh, you know, what the question was more than anything.
The WWE legend then emphasized how veterans should be lifting younger talent rather than trying to tear them down. I just think, man, thats where we are in the business to where we got to try to bring somebody down opposed to trying to lift somebody up, Booker said. Because for me, if I see that young dude, Javon Evans, and what hes doing, I dont care. I dont care who I am. Im going to give him props because hes freaking so good.
Booker T even drew a comparison to his early days in the business, recalling how he once felt outclassed by Too Cold Scorpio but chose to praise him rather than criticize. I remember when I first got in the business, one of my best friends I saw him work and uh, he was in WCW and I was like, man, it was before I got there. Im sitting on the sofa watching and I was like, man, aint no way Im gonna ever get to WCW, man. Because this dude, this dude just way too damn good.
Still to this day, I pump that dude up, man. Because to this day, I say, man, I wish I had the talent that Too Cold Scorpio had and still does to this day, Booker said. And to see a young brother coming up, to not push him to the next level, especially after what youve brought to the table speaking of a Ricochet how hes innovated the game from, you know, his aerial assault, you know, um, um, prowess and whatnot, you supposed to be pushing for that guy no matter what company hes in. Thats just my opinion on it.
Ricochet has yet to respond to Booker Ts comments, and JeVon Evans remains silent after wiping his Twitter clean of the scathing remarks aimed at the AEW star.
