McAfee made his entrance 20 minutes into the show, confirming to fans that hed been cleared by medical staff to resume his duties as the color commentator alongside Michael Cole. The announcement put an end to speculation about his future on Raw after he was noticeably absent from the commentary desk at the start of the show.
The Backlash showdown against GUNTHER had left McAfee visibly battered, raising questions about his ability to continue in his role. But McAfee, whos been at the Raw commentary table since the shows Netflix debut in January, assured the WWE Universe he was ready to go.
Meanwhile, the show opened with CM Punk on the mic for the first time since WrestleMania, addressing his shocking interference in Seth Rollins WWE World Heavyweight Championship match last week. Punks promo was quickly interrupted by Paul Heyman, Rollins, and Bron Breakker, setting the stage for a chaotic start to the night.
