The Miz is trading in the squared circle for the gladiator arena. Amazon has officially announced via Variety that WWE Superstar Mike The Miz Mizanin will host the highly anticipated American Gladiators reboot on Prime Video.
Barry Poznick, general manager of MGM Alternative, Evolution Media, and Big Fish Entertainment, praised the choice, saying, Were excited to officially welcome WWE Superstar Mike The Miz Mizanin to the American Gladiators family. Hes the perfect host for the new era of this iconic franchise.
According to Amazon, the new version of American Gladiators will feature an all-star cast of gladiators for the modern era, including bodybuilders, former D1 athletes, CrossFit champions, and fitness trainers from around the world. While some classic challenges like Gauntlet, Hang Tough, and The Eliminator will return, new challenges will also be introduced to test the strength and endurance of the competitors.
With no premiere date announced yet, Amazon is already touting the series as part of a larger American Gladiators revival that includes a 24/7 streaming channel and a Live Nation tour.
