Lyra Valkyria is still the WWE Womens Intercontinental Champion. She defeated Becky Lynch at Backlash on Saturday. Valkyria proved she could beat her former friend and hero.
Towards the end of the match, Lynch seemed to be going for another ManHandle Slam, one of several she was able to execute throughout the bout, but ended up in a roll up. Valkyria kicked out and then countered with a roll up of her own to retain the title.
Post match, Lynch locked in the DisArmHer but had to be pulled apart by officials.
This was Valkyrias fifth successful title defense since becoming the inaugural champion in January.
