AEW is always changing, either behind the scenes or in the ring. It seems that one person who was brought in thanks to their close family connections is no longer with the company.
Sean Ross Sapp has reported on Fightful Select that Tony Schiavones son Matt recently left AEW for opportunities outside of wrestling. Previously to this, he had been formatting AEW in recent months.
It is unclear why Matt Schaivone has left AEW. At this point, we are still awaiting an official statement from his side. All we know right now is that it appears he is no longer with Tony Khans organization.
Tony Schiavone has been married to his wife, Lois, since 1981, and they have five children: Matt, Laurie, Chris, Jon Michael, and Tim. They also have three grandchildren. Tony has shared his life with his family through his What Happened When podcast, where he has told many stories of his personal life.
We will have to see if Matt Schiavone makes a return to AEW down the line. He certainly has pro wrestling in his blood, so that could provide him a great opportunity down the road if he wants to re-visit the idea.
