Seth Rollins wasnt always Seth Rollins. Before signing with WWE, he was Tyler Black, a name he chose for himself during his run in Ring of Honor. But when WWE came calling, everything changed.

While speaking on the Chicago Bears podcast, Rollins opened up about how the late Dusty Rhodes played a pivotal role in giving him the name that would define his WWE career.

I had a little bit of say. My name, Seth Rollins, was given to me, bestowed upon me, Rollins said. I made a list. I made like two lists, first names and last names, when I first got hired by WWE, right? They want to own your brand. They want to be partners in owning your brand.

Rollins revealed that Rhodes, known for his southern drawl and larger-than-life personality, was the one who ultimately chose the name. The late, great American Dream, Dusty Rhodes, was the one who gave me my name. Seth Rollins, baby, Rollins recalled. He had a list. If you dont know Dusty, he had a list. Hes a southern boy with a list. And I see it on the marquee now. I see it. Its Seth Rollins, baby. Main event of WrestleMania. I love it. I love it, baby.
