The May 6 episode of WWEs NXT brand brought a big show to The CW. Fans tuned in to see how the nights matches would shape upcoming storylines and title chases.
One of the key matches featured was the #1 Contenders match for the NXT Womens Championship: Jordynne Grace vs. Giulia. This matchup determined who would go on to challenge for the title in the coming weeks.
This match closed out the show, and fans were ready to see the two collide. They started off strong with some strikes, and fans were cheering both competitors on. As the match continued, NXT Womens Champion Stephanie Vaquer watched on with a lot of concentration.
The match continued through a commercial break, as Giulia tried to shut down the former TNA Wrestling Knockouts Champion. The two went back and forth with stiff shots after the came back from commercial, and Giulia chopped Grace down before the Juggernaut returned fire.
Fans chanted for Giulia as they continued. Then she nailed a driver for a two count. She was not happy about that, so the former NXT Womens Champion tried for a Northern Lights Bomb, but Grace counted with a standing octopus. In the end, Jordynne Grace pulled off the win with a clean pinfall.
We will have to see what is next for the NXT Womens Division. Stephanie Vaquer is certainly a great champion, but there is no shortage of challengers.
