Matt Cardona isnt holding back when it comes to addressing WWEs latest round of talent cuts. The former WWE Superstar, once known as Zack Ryder, fired off a message on Twitter aimed directly at those recently let go from the companyand its pure Cardona energy.
To the recently released, You have three choices 1) Fade into obscurity 2) Coast off of your WWE name 3) Work your ass off, reinvent yourself, make a lot of money, and have a lot of fucking fun! Love, The Indy God, he wrote.
Cardona knows exactly what its like to be shown the door. After spending over a decade with WWE, he was released in 2020 during the first wave of pandemic cuts. Rather than disappear, he rebranded himself as a top draw on the independent scene, collecting titles and carving out a new identity far away from the Woo Woo Woo persona. From GCW and NWA to IMPACT and AEW appearances, he made it clear hes not just survivinghes thriving.
His tweet follows WWEs massive release list this week, which included Shayna Baszler, Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, Katana Chance, and Kayden Carter from the main roster. NXT also lost several top names like Gigi Dolin, Cora Jade, Gallus, and Javier Bernal. While most of the main roster stars are locked into 90-day non-compete clauses, NXT talent are expected to be free agents within 30 days.
Whether or not WWE regrets any of these cuts remains to be seenbut Cardonas blunt advice? Dont wait around.
