WWEs most recent round of roster cuts sent shockwaves through both NXT and the main roster, but now fans are learning more about who was really calling the shots. According to Sean Ross Sapp, Triple Hs influence played a direct role in who stayedand who didnt.
During his post-SmackDown stream, Sapp clarified the extent of Triple Hs involvement, stating: From what I was told, if he wants somebody to be there, theyre going to be there. Gonna be there. Let me be clear about that if he wanted them there, they would be there. They would absolutely be there.
Triple H currently holds the title of Chief Content Officer, overseeing WWEs creative direction across all brands. His control has only grown since Vince McMahons departure from day-to-day operations, and many within the company view him as the final decision-maker when it comes to talent.
Fifteen Superstars were cut this week, including main roster names like Shayna Baszler, Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, Katana Chance, and Kayden Carter. These stars are tied to 90-day non-compete clauses, which means they wont be free to sign elsewhere until August.
NXT talent, however, got shorter leashes. Gigi Dolin, Cora Jade, Gallus, Oro Mensah, Jakara Jackson, Eddy Thorpe, Riley Osborne, and Javier Bernal are under 30-day non-compete deals, freeing them up for new opportunities in June.
While WWE hasnt publicly commented on the decisions, the message behind the scenes is clearif Triple H wants you in the company, youre safe. If not, your time might already be up.
