Another longtime WWE name is out the door. Ryan Pappolla, a familiar face to fans through shows like WWE Now and The Bump, has reportedly been let go as part of the May 1 staff cuts, according to PWInsider.com.
Pappollas departure ends a decade-long run with the company that started from the ground up. He began as an intern and worked his way through the editorial ranks before becoming one of WWEs go-to digital hosts. Over the years, he hosted several major shows, including WWE Now, The Bump, and more recently, content for WWEs Twitch channel like WWE Vault Watchalong and Raw Sidecasts.
Despite being let go, Pappolla was respected inside the company. He had been very much liked within the company walls, the report noted, pointing to strong internal support throughout his time in WWE.
His exit wasnt the only one. The company also parted ways with Christine Lubrano, Senior VP of Creative Writing Operations, along with cuts in departments like creative services and photography. WWE has yet to officially confirm if these layoffs were tied to any specific event like WrestleMania, but all signs point to continued restructuring under the TKO Group Holdings umbrella.
Losing Pappolla is a major shift for WWEs digital presence, especially after his years as a steady on-air personality. His absence will be felt by fans who tuned in weekly for his commentary and hosting energy.
